Project Summary
- Client: Visionary Health (concept health-tech platform)
- Deliverable: 4-part onboarding email sequence
- Audience: New users, including patients and healthcare professionals
- Primary objective: Turn sign-ups into meaningful in-app action
The Brief
Visionary Health users were signing up, but many were not taking a second action. The onboarding sequence had to do three jobs at once: build trust quickly, explain product value clearly, and guide users toward actions that improve retention.
The strategic challenge was emotional as much as functional. Health-tech readers are often simultaneously curious and cautious. The writing needed to feel reassuring without sounding vague, and directive without sounding pushy.
Challenge and Response
- Challenge: High sign-up rate but low first-use completion.
- Challenge: AI-enabled health messaging can feel cold or intimidating.
- Challenge: Mixed audience motivations across patients and professionals.
- Response: Use a trust-first, warm tone with one clear job per email.
- Response: Build a clear narrative arc: welcome, understand, master, commit.
Messaging Principles
- Trust before conversion: Earn confidence before asking for commitment.
- Clarity over cleverness: Translate technical concepts into practical outcomes.
- One step at a time: Keep each email focused on one key action.
Sequence Structure
- Email 1 (Day 0): Welcome and value proposition. CTA: complete profile.
- Email 2 (Day 2): First-scan walkthrough. CTA: start scan.
- Email 3 (Day 4): Educational value add and preventive guidance. CTA: explore guide.
- Email 4 (Day 7): Social proof and consultation offer. CTA: book consultation.

Execution Notes
Each email has one core job, one primary CTA, and one forward-link to the next message. This sequencing prevents cognitive overload and makes progression feel natural for the reader.
The copy uses plain-language health communication, direct reassurance, and measured urgency. The sequence is designed to feel human, not automated, while still driving clear product behaviors.
